This week’s notable exchange goes to Spiders Knit for their secret single sock swap.  Each participant knitted one sock for swapping with their matched pal. Fantastic socks, ladies!

I know what you’re thinking. Isn’t origami a traditional Japanese craft? Yes, it is.  However, it is just as popular with other Asian cultures, especially in China. It is not uncommon to find origami as part of New Year decorations.  I’ve always wanted to learn how to make origami, but I’m a bit intimidated. Besides, it will not do my OCD tendencies any good.

If you would like to give it a try or know someone who does, check out the The Origami Giftbox for $13.57 at Amazon.

converse design your own

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

I love the fact they make shoeless slip-on Converses (my skateboarder lifestyle resurfaced recently). I love it more they allow you to design your own. Below is the design of my shoes, which I received promptly after two weeks (in very impressive packaging with fancy shoe bag and all).  Yes, they make off-the-shelf red Converses. But not with that cool little orange stripe on the back. Ah-hah!

Note: Sizing is unisex so it can be tricky. Plus Converse has their own sizing standards, so you may want to double-check the chart before paying.
