Every January, as I sweep up balls of wrapping paper and Christmas cookie crumbs, I ponder how I’ll make a positive change in the coming months. Making New Year’s resolution is a fun and inspiring tradition for me, but my sister has been staunchly against resolutions for years, insisting no one ever keeps them anyway.

However, this year brought some fairly serious health scares to my sister and she finally gave in, agreeing to make some resolutions to improve her health. In the spirit of being a supportive sister, I decided to get her something special to help her kick off her newfound goals. But she’s the type of woman who has nearly everything, making her a hard-to-shop-for gift recipient.

As a coworker and I commiserated over my conundrum, my cubicle mate made a fabulous suggestion: “Buy your sister something pampering so she doesn’t stress herself out too much meeting those health and fitness goals.”

I realized she was absolutely correct! A bit of pampering is precisely what my sister needed, and this tip provided some wonderful gifting inspiration. So, here’s a look at some pampering gift ideas for her that will set her off down a path toward good health and happiness in the new year.

A Private Chef or Food Delivery Services

Nearly everyone could make some dietary improvements, but actually implementing this type of change can be tricky. I think back to my own discovery of gluten intolerance and my quest to eliminate gluten from my diet. Grocery shopping and meal planning turned into a major point of frustration for a solid month!

This is where a private chef can help—and it’s not as expensive as many assume! Chefs will come to your home with all the ingredients and expertise required to cook up something delectable. Often, you get more than just a single meal, as a good chef can cook an entire week’s worth of meals in an afternoon. The best part is that your private chef can provide advice and recipes that she can implement in her own cooking. It’s a wonderful way to try new foods, without the hassle of slaving over a hot stove.

If she would balk at the idea of allowing another cook into her kitchen, you may opt for a subscription to a delivery service that provides recipes and fresh ingredients. It’s everything she needs to prepare a delicious meal, while avoiding a stressful recipe hunt and time-consuming grocery shopping trip.

Facials and Spa Treatments

My best friend recently returned from a pre-wedding spa trip, and two weeks later, she’s still glowing—and can’t stop talking about her incredible weekend of rest and relaxation. I have to admit, I’m a little bit jealous!

A facial and spa trip makes for a wonderful pampering gift for her. Such treatments are especially good for women who have sensitive skin or are unsure what products they should use to look and feel their best. After all, aestheticians are typically delighted to provide advice and recommendations! What’s more, this gift can be as economical or as luxurious as you wish, ranging from a $30 facial to a $10,000 week-long spa getaway. The beauty of an experiential gift is you can join in on the experience, which serves as a wonderful opportunity to make new memories together.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a women who wouldn’t love a trip to the spa. But if she’s more of a do-it-yourselfer, consider some self-pampering gifts, like a foot spa, a facial kit, a cozy bathrobe, bath bombs, lotions, and body wash.

Health and Wellness Gadgets

I didn’t appreciate how inactive I was until I got a pedometer. I was shocked by how little mileage I was putting in! And though I found myself cursing my comfy couch and those oh-so-bingeable Netflix shows (Stranger Things, anyone?), this realization was actually wonderful, as it prompted me to make some positive lifestyle changes.

If the woman in your life loves technology, then a FitBit Charge 3 could be the perfect gift to kick off her New Year. Health and wellness gadgets can track distance traveled, calories burned and other attributes that are important for gaining an increased awareness of your health.

Here are some other health-related gadgets she may enjoy:

  • Smart blood pressure wearables: High blood pressure is the plague of many people’s lives. These gadgets make it easy to keep an eye on your blood pressure and remind you to destress whenever possible.
  • Smart shoes: Who knew footwear could be so clever? These running shoes keep track of running metrics, making it easy to monitor your progress.
  • Stress level monitors: I don’t know about you, but I could certainly use a reminder every now and then to just take a deep breath! A stress monitor helps you notice when your stress levels are hitting the roof so you can consciously relax.
  • Mobile heart monitors: For anyone with heart-related health concerns, a mobile heart monitor can set your mind at ease.
  • Medical tricorder wearables: Tricorders aren’t just Star Trek props anymore! A real-life medical tricorder provides a convenient way to check your health on-the-go.
  • Muse headband: This handy gadget monitors brain waves to help her achieve a more effective meditation session.

When buying a high-tech wearable, you’ll just want to ensure that you choose one with a companion app that is compatible with the recipient’s devices.

Private Lessons or Fitness Coaching

For the fitness-oriented gal, some private lessons or coaching could make for the perfect bit of pampering. Last year, I received the gift of private golf coaching sessions. I’ve seen some remarkable improvements and I’ve even started coming in under par.  Every birdie and eagle makes me silently thank my brother for that wonderful gift!

Every woman loves a bit of personalized attention, especially when it involves an activity she enjoys. Alternatively, this can be a great gift for a woman who has fitness goals but isn’t sure where to begin.

So, if she practically lives at the gym or spends most of her weekends on the tennis courts, then some one-on-one coaching could be precisely what she needs to elevate her skills to the next level.

Pampering Gift Ideas For Her to Show Much You Care

These are just a few thoughtful pampering gift ideas for her. As you pick out the perfect present, remember that every woman is unique. Think about both what she enjoys and what she dislikes, then find a gift that caters to these preferences. I’ve found this is a great recipe for finding the ideal gift for a special woman on your shopping list.

I ultimately decided to give my sister the gift of a private chef, who will visit on a weekly basis to cook healthy meals for the entire family. It should be precisely what the doctor ordered as she works to achieve her resolutions. We all want our loved ones to be safe and healthy, but it’s easy to get bogged down in stress. The perfect pampering gift shows how much you care, all while encouraging the woman in your life to take care of herself. And that’s a goal we should all aim to keep.
